Generate Dkim Key For Domain Openssl

  • In Ubuntu 18.04 which commands should I run to create DKIMprivate and publick key for domain. Can I do that by using Openssl tool or no

I checked this question DKIM on DNS panel DigitalOcean and this article How To Install and Configure DKIM with Postfix on Debian Wheezy but it is for Debian Wheezy not Ubuntu 18.04

  • After I created the keys (public and private), How can I add the public key to domain vi Digitalocean DNS

  • Finally can I use that private key to setup DKIM Signing using Nodemailer

  • Openssl genrsa -out private.key 2048 openssl rsa -in private.key -pubout -out public.key The Question is: Is creating DKIM key (private and public) using Openssl is safe, Is Openssl the preferred tool to do that. Can I add the public.key to the domain’s DNS records (TXT). Can I used private.key to setup DKIM Signing using Nodemailer.
  • The key pair consists of a private key and a public key. These are a standard RSA key pair, generated as described in RFC 3447 (but there's no need to read the RFC, just use an existing library that complies with it). As an example, a key pair can be generated using the openssl command line tool.

HOWTO: Generating and publishing DKIM keys for SEG. Generate a private key: openssl genrsa -out myKey.pem 1024. Ensure that DNS and local domain configuration is in place before creating any signing rules for a domain. You must create rules to sign messages.
